Flooring

We install flooring across Northern Virginia — hardwood, luxury vinyl plank, tile, carpet, and more. Our crew handles everything in-house: demo of existing flooring, subfloor prep, and full installation. No subcontractors, no third-party installers showing up with no context on your project. We measure your space, recommend the right material for each room, and install everything ourselves. Whether you’re replacing flooring in one room or doing the entire house as part of a larger remodel, we come to your home, assess the existing conditions, and give you a written quote before anything starts.

Flooring Types We Install

We install a wide range of flooring materials across Northern Virginia — for kitchens, bathrooms, basements, living areas, and whole house installations. Here's what we work with:

Hardwood Flooring

Solid and engineered hardwood installed in living rooms, bedrooms, hallways, and kitchens. Hardwood adds warmth, character, and long-term value to Northern Virginia homes. We install new hardwood and refinish existing hardwood floors that need updating.

Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP)

LVP is the most popular flooring choice for Northern Virginia homes right now — waterproof, durable, comfortable underfoot, and available in a wide range of wood-look styles. Works in every room including kitchens, bathrooms, and basements where hardwood isn't suitable.

Tile Flooring

Ceramic, porcelain, and natural stone tile installed in kitchens, bathrooms, entryways, and laundry rooms. We install standard tile, large format tile, and patterned tile — including floor-to-ceiling tile work in bathroom remodels.

Carpet

Carpet installed in bedrooms, basements, and living areas where comfort and warmth are the priority. We install a range of carpet styles and grades — from budget-friendly options to premium plush carpet for master bedrooms.

Laminate Flooring

Laminate is a cost-effective alternative to hardwood — durable, scratch resistant, and available in a wide range of wood and stone looks. A good choice for high-traffic areas or homeowners on a tighter budget who still want the look of hardwood.

Hardwood Refinishing

Existing hardwood floors that are scratched, faded, or worn can often be refinished rather than replaced — saving significant cost while restoring the original look. We sand, stain, and refinish hardwood floors throughout Northern Virginia.

Why Choose Us

Why Choose Moda Kitchen & Bath For Your Project

No Subcontractors

Every flooring installation is done by our own crew — not a third-party installer handed your job. We measure, prep the subfloor, and install everything ourselves from start to finish.

Subfloor Prep Included

Most flooring problems start with a bad subfloor. We inspect, level, and repair the subfloor before any new flooring goes down — a step most installers skip that makes a big difference in the long-term result.

Written Quote Upfront

Before any demo begins you get a full written quote covering material, demo, subfloor prep, installation, transitions, and trim. No surprise charges when the crew shows up — what we quote is what you pay.

Licensed & Insured

Fully licensed and insured in Virginia. Virginia Contractor License #2705183500. Whether it's a single room or whole house flooring installation, you're working with a licensed contractor who stands behind the work.

Common Questions About Flooring Installation

LVP (luxury vinyl plank) is the most popular choice for kitchens in Northern Virginia because it's waterproof, durable, comfortable underfoot, and available in a wide range of wood-look styles. Tile is also a strong choice for kitchens. Hardwood works in kitchens but requires more maintenance and is not ideal in areas with heavy moisture.
LVP is the best flooring choice for basements because it's waterproof and handles moisture much better than hardwood or laminate. Carpet is also popular in basement living areas and bedrooms. We do not recommend hardwood or standard laminate for below-grade spaces.
Flooring installation costs in Northern Virginia vary by material and square footage. LVP typically ranges from $4 to $8 per square foot installed. Hardwood ranges from $8 to $15 per square foot installed. Tile ranges from $6 to $12 per square foot installed depending on tile size and pattern complexity. We provide a full written quote after measuring your space.
Yes. We remove and dispose of your existing flooring — carpet, tile, hardwood, or vinyl — as part of the installation. You don't need to arrange separate demo. Our crew handles everything from removal to final installation.
LVP is 100% waterproof and made from PVC — it can handle spills, moisture, and humidity without warping or swelling. Laminate has a wood core that can swell when exposed to moisture and is not recommended for bathrooms, kitchens, or basements. LVP is the better choice for most rooms in Northern Virginia homes.
A single room typically takes one day. A whole house flooring installation usually takes 3 to 5 days depending on the size of the home and the material being installed. We give you a clear timeline before any work begins.
In some cases yes — LVP can be installed over existing hard flooring if the subfloor is level and in good condition. However we generally recommend removing existing flooring so we can inspect and prep the subfloor properly. Installing over bad subfloor is one of the most common reasons flooring fails prematurely.
Yes. Visit our Fairfax showroom to see flooring samples in person. Seeing the actual color, texture, and finish of hardwood, LVP, and tile in real life makes picking the right flooring much easier than browsing online.
